And even trusting is not of yourselves; it too, is a gift of God. Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it. (TLB) Salvation is not grace mixed with works, neither is it works alone. It is by grace alone through faith. Salvation is not what you qualify for. You didn’t get saved by what you have done, and you will not remain saved by what you do. 2 Timothy 1:9, Philippians 1:6.
